The SaidClear Journal

Translate the meaning. Keep the original.

A practical multilingual meeting workflow that preserves source text, names, numbers, terminology, and an easy route back to the conversation.

Give every version a source

A translated sentence is an interpretation of a source, not a replacement for it. The most useful reading view lets you understand the conversation quickly and return to the original whenever a detail matters.

Keep the original utterance, its language, and its position in the recording together. A decision about a deadline should be traceable to the words behind it. If the original changes after a correction, its translation needs review too; yesterday’s translation can be fluent and still be wrong for today’s source.

Treat names and numbers as first-class details

Prepare a small glossary of product names, project codes, and terms the team uses repeatedly. Decide which should be translated and which should stay unchanged. A short, reviewed glossary is more useful than a long list nobody maintains.

After translation, review amounts, dates, owners, and negation before sending follow-up. Read ‘will not ship’ as carefully as ‘will ship’. When a passage is ambiguous, retain that uncertainty and ask the speaker instead of turning a plausible interpretation into a confident decision.

Choose language deliberately

SaidClear keeps a capture language and a reading language separate. The recording language helps the local recognizer; the reading language controls an optional translated view. Changing one does not justify silently rewriting the other.

A list of supported languages is not evidence that every accent, noisy room, or densely mixed-language sentence performs equally well. Evaluate the actual voices and conditions your team uses. Preserve the recording when appropriate, review important passages, and keep corrections attached to their sources.
